Chocolate Hazelnut Butter


Now who... WHO? in their righ mind doesn't LOVE Nutella!?   Ummm... I can't think of anyone but if you can, let me know so I can ask them whats wrong with them! haha Kidding! Sad thing here is that although I love the spread and grew up on it, I RARELY eat it... Why you ask!? because its LOADED with Sugar! The enemy! Don't get me wrong I take a dip every now and again but rarely. Idea... What if I just made my own healthy version!? DUH! So here it goes!
 

Ingredients:

1 c Raw Hazelnut
2 tbsp Coconut Oil
1/4 c Cocoa Powder
1-2 tbsp Honey (or more, depending on how sweet you like it)
1/4 c Coconut Milk 

Set the oven to 350° 

Evenly spread hazelnuts on a baking sheet

Roast hazelnuts for 20 mins or until slightly golden. 
let them cool and one by one peel off all the skins, trust me this is easy, just run them in your fingers.... wala!

Fill up your food processor with all the hazelnuts and once your done removing skins blend away. 
I recommend blending as much as you can before you add liquid, but one thing I've learned is that hazelnuts aren't very oily so they will start to get stuck and unlike Almonds they don't get un-stuck... haha When you reach that -STUCK - point add the oil and honey.

Save the coconut milk for last. Depending on your desired sweetness you may have put more honey than me which means it will be a little more soft already. Add in your cocoa powder, wait for the mess... then slowly add the coconut milk until the desired creaminess is achieved!

Fill a container and place it in the fridge!

It will be a little weird tasting at first since if you like Nutella you'll be looking for that sugary flavor but sorry and thank God at the same time, its NOT THERE! haha

Almond Butter

This is how to make simple delicious Almond butter in your kitchen.  This recipe does not have added protein but it can be added to many great protein recipes so its important to know how to make it. Or... of course you can go to the store and buy the " All Natural" almond butter but it will cost you a leg... and its LOADED with oils and sugars. Natural, ok... thats great but not when there are 20 other ingredients.  I like to make my own, its cheaper and I know only healthy goodness goes in for a super healthy powerful snack!



Ingredients:

Raw Almonds, 1 Cup
Coconut oil, 2 TBSP
Honey - I used 1 TSP

This is the part where it gets sweet... you add what you want but make sure you keep the same Liquid to Dry Ratio or you'll have almond soup... also it doesn't need to be honey you can also use Maple syrup or Agave syrup which gives different unique flavors.





Add your almonds first and blend away.... Keep blending...
Stir and blend until oils are released and you cant blend anymore.

Now add 2 TBSP of Coconut oil and Honey, or whatever you may have chosen.

Blend Again :)  Stir and blend some more... until its smooth and creamy!
